Oh my god!!!!

Well, people at my club says i could proberly hover, it's just i don't have enough power to keep it up there. I have a global freestyle and i use a OS max.46 and my model is quite heavy so....you're not the only one.

I had also problems with hovering. Power problems...

First I got myself a Showtime 90 with a saito 120S. 3D was new for me, I used the prop that stands in the manual my engine, a 15x8. I could hover, only full throttle

My showtime crashed, to low knife-edge. I got me a funtana X100 because the SH didn't had the slowflight characteristics that I want. Now I have my funtana hovering allday long, if I want . I used fuel with more nitro (15%) and a 18x6 prop. I love it . it took my a whole year for getting experience for setting up my plane. I'm limited in budget, so a bigger engine and so on were no option for me. Now I'm very satisfied that I got myself a awesome plane to hover, and fully 3D capable..

Its no black art ya knows. Iwas hooked on hover practice for a good 8months n im now the official (one-trick Pony). Stay away from Fun flys like(You can do 3D ) if ya wann nail the prophang. A pal of mine can hover till the cows come home with his 28% extra but give him ( u cant do 3D)He'll make it look real dangerous. I hate those planes with a passion. Ya might as well throw yer money at the street. The wings just way too fat and the fuss reacts like 10 mins after ya puts in a imput. Best thingfor a old school fun fly is a BLACKBAG

I used to have a lot of trouble hovering. I have a DW Yak foamy, well I have had a few of them, but I used to be horrible at hovering. I could only stayin in it for a few seconds high up. I then started practicing hovering lower, just going to hover power holding the foamy out in front of me and letting it hover. I got pretty good at doing this. After that I decided that I was going to just over in my backyard and I used to do it quite a bit. After a while of hovering under the tress in my yard and in really small spaces I have gotten very good at it. I can fly the foamy indoors easily and fly in a hover all around my yard. The key is practice

I believe I have seen you around before. Were you at the Chula Vista IMAC event, a few weeks back?

I basically started out the same. Just tried hovering in one place for a few, then eventually it got easier and easier. My first foamy I used to hover down low was a DW Foamies Yak. Now, 3" off the ground hovers, and "within arms reach" hovers are absolutely no problem. My foamys don't even touch the ground now, except with the rudder, and the crashes

Just 3 months ago I could not hover worth a but I spent much time on the sim and got a small electric to practice in the back yard and now hovering is not a problem for me. I will warn you, once you get hovering down you will want to try rolling harriers and all the hard stuff but be patient. I cant tell you how much the sim has helped me with 3d

Yup, I was at the Chula Vista IMAC, who were you?

It was pretty embarrassing how poorly I did, I had not flown in about a month, hahah.

I was the one standing in the back, wearing the black hooded jacket. I was there for about an hour on saturday afternoon to talk with Mike. Check my profile image, you'll see.
