| IMAC wannabe! ![]() | Yep, the greenies are trying to close down duck season. I have some close family friends who have special licenses to shoot duck all year round on their large properties but NSW has closed duck season and I think Victoria is looking to close theirs down too. Pale rider you have a small arsenal there!!!!!! Here in Australia our gun regs are horrendusly tough. I used to use an Auto shotgun and automatic rifle, but now they are outlawed, you can only use a double or single barrel shotgun, no pump action allowed. I think the magazine limit for bolt action and lever action rifles is like 5 rounds or so. To own a centre fire rifle means a special license and just about no one is allowed to own handguns in Australia. Its so tough that I have let my license slip and couldnt be bothered renewing it. I just borrow friends guns and shoot on private property under their 'supervision' lol |

| What goes up, must come down! ![]() | Dove are great, they look like a fighter plane spiraling down to the ground if you get em right... I've done a bit of deer and elk hunting, but mostly go along to keep my dad company. He LOVES to hunt... Concerning my guns, I've got a little collection of old military rifles. My favorite beeing a 1943 Mossberg M44 .22 target rifle. Used by the US Govt. to train the GIs how to shoot. Such a fun little gun! |

| Mother Hucker + ![]() ![]() | Benny Victoria is definately NOT looking at closing down the duck season, in fact this years season saw an increase in bag limit. It is still totally legal to shoot ducks in NSW as long as you purchase a $35 mittigation license, which is a much better way for shooters as there is no bag limits, it just means you need to find mainly rice growers to hunt their property. Licensing is not that much different to what it was before just a little less choice. You are still legally allowed to own auto shotguns but only for clay shooting. Also we now have a Game council set up in Australia who do most of the advising to the government on season availabilty and bag limits etc instead of the beurecrats that used to do it. Another point of intrest also is that NSW has just recently opened up the majority of its state forests and public land to the hunting of pest animals, a first in nearly 30 years. Hunting in Australia has certainly taken a huge step forward over the last couple of years. As for the hand gun side of things you are still able to own one as long as you are a member of a pistol club. It does take a fair bit longer but that has always been the case.

| IMAC wannabe! ![]() | Thats great to hear. I had read that the greenies had pressured the state govt's into banning it all together. I have a few family members and friends with rice farms and have never had to bother about licensing and bag limits. |

| Mother Hucker + ![]() ![]() | The greenies have been trying to get duck hunting banned in Australia for at least as long as I can remember, and I started doing it about 20 years ago. They are losing a lot of steam now with mainly only the diehards showing up. The hardly get any media coverage and are now issued on the spot fines the minute they enter the wetlands

| Warning I fly 3D ! ![]() | Jeremy, thats a great Photo of your dog. The one with the duck is cool also. I've been hunting for the past 10 years here in N. Fla. our deer are a lot smaller than most of the rest of the country. This one was about the biggest from last year at our club. 180 lbs. |
