I only hunt critters with legs, wings, or fins.

Saturday was opening day of Deer season here in Georgia (archery). Was lucky enough to see deer on every trip to the stand. I saw two nice bucks early Sunday morning, but since we are in a county with antler restrictions, they were not quite legal..

I took a 14 year old kid hunting for the first time on the above mentioned hunt. He got a big kick out of seeing those bucks. Ten minutes after they left the foodplot, a nice doe showed up and we harvested her. Now, I think this kid is hooked, but he thinks bowhunting is easy.

Hey, Buildflycrash, I'm working on that meat for Huckfest!!

I stuck so many deer in Delaware it got boring. I thought a few times they were just looking for a way out. Then I started waterfowl hunting mostly geese that was a blast until I flew r/c for the first time. I have since sold just about all my hunting crap and put the money into large scale 3D planes. I did keep a few guns just in case I get the itch.

Yeah hunting is getting as expensive as planes. Just dropped $700 for deer corn this year. And this is befor I've made a single trip down there. But it's worth it last year got a small buck and a really big doe.

Cool thread! My son and I just got back from a hunt in Wyoming. 2 elk, 4 pronghorn and a buffalo. It was my 14 yr old son's first "big game hunt" and he did his ol' dad good by dropping a big fat cow elk in one shot! Big BBQ for the whole neighborhood coming soon! Keep the hunt going...

I will try to make this short but tell my story.
I live in New Jersey and have been hunting since 1986 ( age 15 ). I have taken many deer ( does and smaller bucks ), but nothing I wanted to put on the wall.
My 2007 season I shot in Jersey 4 does and a five pointer and in Ohio I finally got my wall hanger. 175lb dressed eight pointer.

As far as bow hunting I went from 1987 to 2000 and shot at two deer and missed. My nerves got the better of me.
Well I took these videos at my private flying field July 19th 2008 and I said " i am bow hunting this year " New Jersey law is a doe must be taken first. Opening day of fall bow season was 9/13/2008. In the morning I had a beatiful eight pointer 30 yards away. In the afternoon I wacked my doe. Didn't get nervous at all. Excited, but not nervous. This was my first deer ever taken with a bow. Now all I need is some of these eights to come back in.

Tell me about it.

With Deer chow at $12.50 a bag, and corn at $12.00 a bag, the deer are eating better than me.

I figure that with the property that I bought, the taxes, the tractor and implements, the fuel, fertilizer, and seed, if I shoot a couple of deer a year, the meat costs me about $500.00 a pound.

What a deal!
