Default I am sorry...

Yes My firend, I am sorry because I did not ask for any advice.
I want to know if the C.G has to be chance a little bit so that would be easy to perform hover and torque roll, etc. I have metal high torque servos, as I said OS 1.20 two strokes, prop 14/4. but I want to know also if I need to program the Radio in any way as curves or so. Please let me know what it will be the best set so that I can start to flight it as some of you do it.
Thanks for all!
Antonio Valero.
P.S: Sorry, where are you from?

Antonio, I don't fly a FuntanaX100, but most people into 3D planes(as I am) will set the CG to the back of where the book says to. Other people(like me) will set the CG so that the plane flys straight and level in both upright and inverted flight without any stick movements.

Also, most people use exponential on their flight surfaces. This is generally about 20-40 on low rates, and 40-80 on high rates.

Some folks use a throttle curve also. On my Funtana .40, I need a throttle curve because without it, I'll be hovering a 1/8th throttle.(second half of the run)

Finally, a 14X4 prop is a little small for a 1.20, in my opinion. You might want to use a 16X4 for better motor and 3D performance.

I hope this helps!

Default Thanks...

Hello 50%, thanks for your help. I think I committed a mistake saying that the propeller was 14x4, it really is 16x4.
About the C.G I understand that a lot of people have different oppinions, but I want to hear what is common,.
Please help to program the curves and exponentials, like in high and low. I have futaba 9chanels, I will appreciate a lot your help and advices,
thanks
Antonio.

I do the same as 50%. I like my planes to fly staight but upright and upside down and have the cg farther back than the recommended on one of my planes. Exponential is great but I don't have a radio that can do exponential but will be getting one soon. The best thing to do is to start with the cg in the middle of the books recommended location then move it back a little bit at a time until it is where you like it. It is also good because the farther back the cg is the more authority to tail control surfaces have so slowly working it back will help you to get used to the extra sensitivity. Also, it really all comes down to personal preference. Having the cg forward helps with stability and precision in patern flying but is not good for 3d so some try to find a balance for both. I however like the cg back farther for 3d flight and use the mixes and low rates, and soon exponenial, to help with the precision in patern flying. It all comes down to feel and what you want so just keep making small adjustments to you get it like you want. Besides, no matter how well a plane is set you are still the one having to perform the maneuver, but a well set up plane does make it a lot easier.

I'm glad to help, Antonio!

The way Ion and I set the CG is very common for a good all around plane, however, if you want to do only hovering, you'll probably want the CG back a little bit further.

I fly with the Futaba 9Cap. I don't personally use any expo and can't handle any more than 20.(just my personal style) You will probably want expo though, so set the throws according to the book for the FuntanaX, then program the radio with low rates at -30 expo on the rudder, elevator and ailerons, and put in -60 for high rates.(same surfaces) This should be a great start for you. You DO NOT want positive expo. I wouldn't mess with the throttle expo/curve unless you need to. It's usually fine.

yo, just a small question, I've ordered a FuntanaS 90, and I read it's about the same as the X 100 (altho I cannot order that one here in Europe yet ...)
So, would the rates and things like that be like the same as you advise for the X100 ??
For the engine, I've got an OS 91 FX, what kind of prop do you guys advice (do keep in mind this is my first 3D-plane (altho', I am doing some 3D-manouevers with my Trainer :P ) ?

thx in advance,
RC
