Help! can a .19-.40 hold a 46 on the nose

Well for my birthday i got a pylon racer .19-.40. The pylon racer racer is a quckie 500 scat cat. I have an os w/th a pitts mufler on it that would be perfect for the plane. but is that to much for the size plane. Its a foam core wing and im kinda afraid that if i get goin to fast it may tearthe wing off. If any tips or ideas for strenghting let me know. and if not that big of an engine.

Not a problem bro. That was a common combination 'back in the day' for sport pylon racing. Dump your Pitts muffler in favor of a stock unit, or a Macs Tuned Muffler.

Seal your hingelines and fiberglass the outside of the firewall to the fuse, also fiberglass the center section of the wing. The ScatCat has a machined hardwood spar that makes it very strong (as well as providing the landing gear mount) but it does help to fiberglass the outside with 2oz cloth and resin.

Have fun!

RcToExtreme, you will likely have to mount the elevator and rudder servos behind the wing in the fuse. Just build a small removable hatch to access them. Mount the battery in the rearmost area above the wing in the top of the fuse. A Hayes 8oz slimline tank fits nicely in the nose, or a 6oz will fit without any mods.

When you build the wing and mount the dowels in the leading edge for the front mounts, make sure to run them all the way into the spar. Failing to do so will make the mount weak and will allow it to pull out in a negative push. (not something you do much of in pylon LOL). TriStock your wing mount blocks as well as the top of the fuse and the firewall for strength and to allow you to round the fuse. If you don't plan to race it, you can round it significantly.
