There are many ways to fuel and defuel these things. Here is what I do.... I pull out the DA fuel dot, unplug it from the fill line, plug it into my Abell rc can, fill it up, when I am very close, I stop fueling. I then unplug the fueler, I plug it back into the fuel can. It has like a twist lock thing on the fuel fitting. Then, I put the DA dot back onto the end of the fuel fill line... and put the dot back into it's little receptical thats mounted on the plane. I very rarely ever spill anything or get any gas on my hands. It's quite simple. Now, there is another brand of fueler that has a two line system and will not waste/spill anything. The guys that kill me are the ones that will fuel until the gas comes out of the vent line out of the bottom of the plane. Like spilling gas is their sign that it is full... If you have to top it off that much to get your flight time in, get a bigger tank and not over fill the thing! It kills our pavement and grass... but yet when they land, they have 3/8 of a tank left!

I use a "T" fitting coming from the tank to the carb. Then the vent runs overboard. The carb is pumped, so flodding during the fueling process is not a worry. I have run my 3W's this way forthe past 7 years, without a single hiccup!!

GremlinX... I like to make sure my tank is as full as it can get, but to avoid spilling flammable gas all over the grass I hook up a separate collector tank off of the tubing coming from the gas tank overflow. Save gas, save grass .... have a ball! Bill |

Hickley, absolutely... I agree... Yes, T between carb, tank, and filler if you want a 2 line. Some folks like a 3 line... I keep it simple myself.. Make sure you safety wire, or use the little clamps on the lines inside the tank, unlike glow, the tygon WILL soften up and come off the clunks, etc.

I used to go thru the hassle of a 3-line system too until Tom Facette at WildHare told me to do a simple "T" system. You put the "T" in the line to the carb - the fill line from your fuel dot goes to the nipple left on the "T". It's as simple as that!! Like they said, be sure and put your fuel dot slightly above the tank level. I also like to put my ignition switch on the side opposite to the fuel dot. Bobby | ||||||||||||||||||

I think you maybe making it too hard on yourself porc... I think I would just run the 2 line setup as mentioned with a T. I think I would get a good fuel dot like the DA dot for example. And run good Tygon line as mentioned. Just make sure everything is secure and no way for a line to chafe itself or get kinked and go with it... It is a lot cleaner than glow stuff even if you do get some gas on your hands... no worse than fueling a car...
