Yes......typically the tygon will go hard before the gas would eat the ziptie. All of mine are ziptied. Good Maint is to to replace your lines every flying season |

This has become much to difficult. Visit PSP manufacturing on the web. Obtain their fuel dots and "T fittings. You don't even need a fuel dot, just a plug in the end of the line. The "T" is really helpful. Inexpensive and high quality. DA and 3W fuel "dots" are ten times larger and ten times more expensive than anything you need. More the size of a gas cap than a fuel dot...Obtain some 1/8" or 5/16" tygon, viton, or neoprene fuel line. Pick one and be happy. 3 or 4 feet will be enough. Now plumb a simple two line fuel system. One line is the vent to the atmosphere and the other is a combination fill and supply. That's the one that goes from the gas tank tothe carb. It also is the one that has a cut in the middle of it for the "T" running to the fuel dot. No, it won't flood the carb when you fill the tank. Install a good filter clunk inside the fuel tank. Install another in the gas can. That's all the filters you need. Use small electrical zip ties for line security every place you have a fuel line connection. Don't use anything made of wire to secure a fuel line. Inside the tank too. Now go fly and don't be scared, just have fun.

Pat, I agree entirely. curious....is there a particularly reason you've found for avoiding wire for securing Tygon lines? I sometimes use zip ties but also sometimes use annealed stainless wire, such as Sullivan sells. I imagine that the wire might cut into the soft neoprene, but should be ok with the Tygon. |
