Default Servo Size

I am building the 75CC Extra from aeroworks and curious if anyone thinks a 5995tg will be to small for the rudder vs the 8711.

Your 5995 will do the job adequately and for a very very long time. Cant beat those titanium gears.

Sounds like more than enough power for that size in plane. Other options like you said 8711 or the 5955 would work. Overkill might be a Seiko servo. With 400 oz of torque I think.

Ummm 400 oz? Try 900oz at 6v or 1,800oz at 12v....

BTW 5955 on the rudder of a 75cc is fine. Go for it! It's the best servo in the market.

I have their 35% 260 with a single 5955. Plenty power, highly recommend it. No slop with the titanium gears.

I guess I'm caught up with something else. Sorry. I don't remember which one does 400oz.

Also how about the ailerons and elevators. Is a 5995tg an overkill on the 75CC version or would the 5985MG be ok. It is a single servo wing so I am affraid the 85's will be working to hard.

If you can go with 5955 all around go for it, there is no such thing of overkill setup, the more power you have the better

5955s everywere. If gravity catches up to you one day or you just deside to go bigger you can use them on anything. That would be you learning from one of my mistakes.

The 5985s would be fine on the wing. I use 1x5955 per aileron on the Aeroworks 35% 260! Works great. Spoke to Rocco about it and he said the ailerons were stiff enough so I did it and no problems so far. He said you would only see a small advantage with 2 servos in IMAC. So far the pane stops dead when I let go the sticks in snaps and rolls so I am happy.

Definitely go 5955 Hitecs all around. They are not much more expensive than the 5985 and you only need 5 of them. You can keep using these in future planes too. They have no death.
