This is a NO WIN POST. So let me end it here. 3W - Powerful engines, respected manufacturer. DA - Powerful engines, respected manufacturer. The DL-50 and the 3MM 50 are new comers and are proving to be solid motors as well. PLEASE do not do the usual Ford/Chevy thing guys.

IMO this is one of the situations that lighter prevails over heavier and more power (possibly). The airplane in question is a small 50cc airplane, and the 3w is a good amount more heavy than the DA or DL 50s, so I would go that route. I do not have brand loyalties, I pick the best one for my application. Now, he also states that $$ is a concern, so in this case the DL 50 is the no brainer choice, and DL USA has very good service too!

if the plane really does com out at 14 pounds it wont matter what engine you get as long as it runs. Although I vote DA 50 for the lighter reliable motor. |
