Help! Power Management

Hey Guys I'm new to Giant Scale, but I have been told that I need two Rx battery packs to ensure safety etc...

OK No problems; I understand that if one pack goes down the other will carry the load.

BUT; IF a pack shorts out this will destroy BOTH batteries in a hurry.

SO; is there a little magic device out there that I can hook up to allow these On Board batteries to work in parallel and still be isolated from each other? Where can I get one?

Thanks
Bruce

That's what I use. And don't worry about batteries shorting out. It doens't really happen that often.

Hey Guys;

I read an interesting referance www.rcbatteryclinic.com "Parallel Operation for Redundancy and Safety" - most interesting... It flies in the face of everything that I know about electricity

I have now researched some four different dual battery systems from the $455.00 do all to the $0.00 plug in two batteries and fly ...

With all due respect to all concerned parties-
#1 Thank you for responding
#2 I think that I'll go middle of the road and get the $30.00 Batshare.

This will satisfy my need for safety/redundancy at a low cost and only tie up one port on my receiver.

Thanks Guys;
See you at the flight line!

Really. At our field the entire time I think we've only had 1 battery short our.? I guess it's just luck.

I've had 3Lion shorts in flight in the last 6 years.
Thanks to a redundant system, they have all landed safely.
The 1st was when we used two separate systems for each side of the plane. "look, the left side of the plane isn't working." the plane lands remarkably well. I'm sure there are a host of similar stories out there.
