If you look on post #43 you can see the 1/4" sanding block against the straight edge. A couple quick passes and is makes a shallow groove where the carbon lays. One of the pics shows the carbon sitting right above the groove before it was glued.

I should have my new set of foam cores this week, looks like UPS did their usual and stuck a big as* hole through the bottow of one. As soon as I get them I will start honeycombing and post some pics of the process and new servo location.

Finally here are some pics of the wings cored out and servo location. Weight savings was 4oz of foam per wing panel for a total of 1/2 pound weight removed. It was pretty time consuming but I am very happy with the results.

That is some sweet coring, Jonas. I think next time, I'll extend mine in quite a bit further like you did. How are you going to apply the glue for the sheeting? Ken |

Got a good amount of work done today. First pics show the gear mounted with 4-40 bolts and blindnuts in the center and 8-32 on the ends. Cutting the center section of the gear removed 4 1/8oz. Also got the turtledeck sheeted and glued to the fuse. Starting to look like an airplane finally. Should start on the hatch next week.
