JPrc,

Where did you get your carbon fiber from and what did you use for your reinforcements? I'm building a 35% Dalton 260 and I'd like to add some reinforcements to my wings.

I got it at acp-composites.com . I bought a 12"x48" piece of .014 and cut what I need out of the sheet.

Completed the hatch this weekend. The whole canopy frame weighs 8oz! Next up will be the stabs. I will not core them stabs out. I don't think I can get enough weight out of them to justify the work and I will only be running 1 servo on each elevator and 2 on the rudder. The weight savings in the tail probably won't be needed.

Here are some pics of how I am doing the stabs. The stab roots are presanded flush with the foam and glued on before sheeting. The only problem is that the first set of stabs I received were different lengths so Tony sent me a new set. My dumb a*ss grabed the bad pair and did all the work to the wrong ones. Needless to say new phenolic and root caps on the way. I was about sheet them when I realized my mistake.

Here is where the carbon will be placed in the wings. The CF will be place in the same position on the top and bottom of the wing. The total weight of the CF used on each wing panel is 3/4oz plus glue. Hopefully I should have the CF in the wings tomorrow.

Hi Jonas,

I was looking at your pictures and I had a question. Did you not put in the cross bracing between the formers at the top of the fuse? I do not see them between f2b/f3b or between f3b/f4b.

Hey Jonas I still wonder why that F3 or F4 former is so big with no cutouts. Any ideas?
