Also I am using a SWB motor mount. I am sure this will help keep the 1/4 ply stiff. I have a 1/4 in firewall on my 35% C Cap 232. I bonked this in a plowed field on a dead stick once. The firewall came loose from the ply fus sides. The firewall was not hurt at all. FWB

Levi, You can take a bunch out of the firewall. This is what Walt did with mine. He then comes back with 1/16' lite ply to seal it back up

Well I set up the table jigs to get the sides vertical. The alminum jigs will lock the sides in over the plans and then the quick squares will get them all vertical. So off to bed to let the gear plate cure up.... See ya all in the AM |

Heres my style for getting the formers all in place.... The orange weights are counter balances from the horizontal stabs of a B707... Heavy stuff, not just your average brass. Each piece weighs 2.5 lbs |

And while the glue is setting on the box.... The stab plates are getting aligned and possitioned on the slab sides. This isn't the way the manual has it setup... I wait to install the hardpoints till this point. Then the sides will get stacked together, the tube squared up, and the other half of the slab side will get "match hole" drilled for the other brace... Pics when the glue dries... |
