they were supposed to come with the firewall not glued in like the current ones are but somehow they accidentily came that way and we did not catch it. but like I said all the new ones you put the firewall in so it is ajustable for any engine.

Get rid of those planes and get the yellow and red ones in and I am in baby! Its a great looking scheme, just like Jim's scheme.

Well, My apologies but I seem to have misplaced my pictures of the motor box pinning and rebuild. But heres what I did. I took I took 2 small pieces of 1/8th ply and built up the sides of the motor box in the front covering the holes on the left and right sides. Next I cut out a new firewall from 1/2 inch ply and glued them all together. very simple but I also decided to push the firewall back a few millimeters so I can have a little room to put washers in so I can adjust the thrust angles once the whole thing gets don't. Everything worked out very well. After everything was glued together I drilled holes in the sides of the motor box just a tiny bit smaller then the dowels I used to pin the motor box. Then very lightly hammered in the dowels that were coated with epoxy. Once everything was dry I sanded the sides of the box and made sure everything I did was fuel proofed and I'm good to go.

OK... It's been forever since I finished up this plane but I finally got it done. If anyones working on one of these done set up the battery and tank like I have mine in the picture. It came out really nose heavy. For the proper CG, I ended up building a shelf right over the wing tube and mounting the tank there. Then mounting the batteries in front of the tank. At that point the CG is about 1 inch behind the tube. Also I'm using a CF tail tube so you may need to move things a little further up if you've got the alum. one. Now for the bad news. This planes had a bad life already lol. I got the motor run up a few weeks ago and went to go fly. Got off the ground perfect but it turns out that the gas stopper I used doesn't work very well with gas. According to the instructions that was the one I was supposed to use but it fell apart on take off and I got about 75 feet up and the whole tank unloaded inside the plane. The motor quit and I made an emergency landing and tore the gear out and tore the brand new cannisters to shreds. and a new NX prop. So back to the shop and rebuild. I made a new gear plate and got everything back together. One of the great things about this plane is that it is super easy to fix when something breaks. So after the rebuild I'm loading the plane into the trailer again and forget that I left my trailer hitch for my trunk inside. So I go to get it and someone decided that it would be a good idea to back up their car next to my trailer. Long story short the plane got run over and so did my 10X. Back to the building block. Gear got tore out again and the rudder and cowling took a good beating too. This time I epoxied the gear plate in reinforces on one side with triangle and reinforced on the other side with angle steel screwed through the motor box. Planes finished heres the pics...

Since then I've had a few good flights. KE definatly needs a little elevator. Coupling is very close and inverted need hardly any elevator. Hovers are beyond easy. The pics is from the second flight I had on it since it got run over by a ford exploder.. I mean explorer. It's an excellent flying plane. It should have a 27 or 28X10 on it but The 26 was all I had and it hovered on a full tank of gas with just enough pull out with that prop. I'll change it this week. I'm planning on going out this coming saturday with all the latest mods. I'll let you know more then.
