Thanks JPrc for the servos and for the help with the CF tube. The edge is again ready for flight.

Tomorrow I'll tackle some more of the Su after I get some rest tonight.

Default Re: 32% Su-26 Build

I'll post some pics tomorrow........

I worked on the elevators halfs tonight.

Today is a sad day

My 35% Aerotech Edge is down for quite awhile

I lost my 35% Edge today.

Prop bolts sheared off and the prop got cut up and hit the wing and wheel pants. The motor also exploded off the plane (taking the front of the motor box and destroying the cowl.

I was able to land the plane safely with half a cowl hanging down by the smoke lines, the motor hanging under the plane by just one sparkplug wire and the left wing tore in half (for some reason didn't separate.

It all happened at the end of my practice today for the contest.

So right now I'm looking at repairing the wheel pants, maybe the cowl but I doubt it......I'll need a new left wing for sure. Other damage was done on the landing as what was left of the prop went through the sheeting on the bottom of the plane......that's an easy fix

Damaged one muffler (snapped off the pipe) and dented one pipe on the other muffler. No engine damage......1 sparkplug connector was damaged also. Spinner is toast, but the lightnend backplate is ok. Throttle servo needs new gears and 1 servo in the wing is toast also. I've also got 5 sheared bolts deep down in the hub of the motor.

Pay no attention to all the balsa and fiberglass dust on everything......next weekend I'm going to clean everything really good before I paint.

Also all my servo's and linkages should arrive this week.

More work........

-Painted the white on one wing.
-waiting for primer to dry on rudder, both stabs, and one aileron
-finished cutting out the hinge area on the other wing and aileron....will glue wood in them tomorrow night.

Once servos arrive all I need to do is....

-cut out elevator hinges and redo them
-glue in all robart hinges
-setup electronics tray
-glue in fake hatch
-glue in airplane portion of the rudder

Figure maybe by the weekend I'll be close to done.
