Default Redo 3W Extra 40% Extra 300S

As a lot of you dudes know we have a building night (class for me) at Rolling harriers house. I am restoring a 3W Extra 40%. It should be ready to fly by the end of March or in the month of April. I only work on it once a week. It took me a while to get everything I need and I finished getting everything at the W.R.A.M. Show this past weekend. I ended up spending $668.00! OUCH but one big charge was the batteries and I did throw in a Simulator I been wanting to get which bumped up the pirce...But I ordered the spinner, the second RX and a few other things and ended up spending more than I wanted to but I will be set now. Everything will arrive this coming week and I will be close to finishing it. Since we were suppose to go fly today and the weather up here in new England sucked again today I was able to put ion some time at RH house. Today I built and installed the floating pull/pull system.

Tank installed the engine, EasyEd built the 50CC gas tank...Doiing it right with the brass tubes and the small cut brass tubes over the smaller brass tubes and soldering them. He did a class job on it! RH has done all supervision and has done quite a bit also. We all have soldered and did this and that. It is really coming together and we will all have a Chance to fly it all summer! So here is a few pictures on how it is coming..
You can see I was getting tired. I worked about 5 hours strait and then came home and worked on another plane and just stopped. The end of my fingers are killing me! A lot of twisting and and installing 4-40 rods into carbon fiber....

Ok enjoy later
K L O W N

PS If you look close to the pictures we take at Rolling Harriers house you will see his basement is haunted. He has Orbs (the little spheres of energy)! HA Either that of it is very dusty! HA HA HA!

Thumbs up Re: Redo 3W Extra 40% Extra 300S

Hey FlyingKlown,

I recently picked up the same plane at a local swap meet. It appears to have a lot of flights on it! A heads up on the landing gear area on the fuse, apparently this area needs some additional strength as others have separated the gear from the fuse! I have a 3w150QS mounted and just finished the 3w can installation. Should start servo install soon, 5955 all around (2 rud, 2 elev, 2 per ail).
All the research I've done indicates this plane is an awesome performer, imac or 3d. I'll take some pics this pm and post. Good luck with your build or er restore.

Look forward to more discussion(and most of all flying it).

Thanks I have already got plans to do that for sure!
I wanted to use the 5955's too but when I started they were not out yet or I didn't know about them! I have put 8- 8611's in it. I used a hitec either a 5645 or 5925 for the throttle. YES I want to make sure I have a good throttle response!

I have had this since last Summer. I have about got it ready to fly. I'll have everything done the next few building nights but then I have to go over everything and tie up loose ends. Hopefully I will be ready for a range check and engine run up in a few weeks and then a trim flight! I am excited for sure! Good luck to you too! I will let you know how it goes.

This is a picture of it when it was flying!
