power plant with mufflers = 25lbs
landing gear is at least 15lbs landing gear, wheles an and axles
5lbs of servos
7lbs for power system
10lbs of monokote and we havent even gotten to an airframe yet...

i dont know if your doing foam core wing, but i just did some calculations and your going to have 70 cubic feet of foam, considering its solid, if not I hope you have a balistic parachute for when the wings fold...

foam is 1 lb per sq foot! I dont see how you could possibly think your going to get this plane in at 100lbs...

sheeting is going to weigh 11 lbs by my calculations...

are you doing foam core wing with sheeted surfaces or open bay built up wings/stabs?

what size prop are you planing on useing?

whats your plan for servos/batteries for control surfaces?

how are you covering/finishing the structure?

what size spinner are you going to use? 10" on a 35" prop? belt reduction?

how are you planing on building a canopy? that alone is going to weigh 10 lbs in itself...

not at all trying to be mean or cruel, just want to know how you think this is even possible...

Thanks for the input kid, I will take that under advisement.

This is already begining to sound like the last 260 thread. Maybe I should hire you as my consultant so I would have a fighting chance to pull this off. Remember, I said it was a goal, not an absolution. So sit back and we will all see together. OK

Just a question. Won't something this light fly strangely at this size... I mean will that motor be able to pull such a large airframe at a decent speed even if it is light as a feather I am sure it will have a large amount of drag.
It should fly extremely dampened, and I am taking measures to reduce some of that drag on all the flying surfaces.

Guys, I am honored that Bob has chosen the Giants to post this build thread.
If anyone can build this bird and bring it in on the weight/price budget, it is Sensi!!
I will be rivited to this thread, even if it takes two years!

This is very, very exciting. When people like Bob take builds like this on, it helps expand the hobby.

Can't wait my friend!!! This should be a great project!!
