Mine came in about 1/4 aft of recommended, and the plane is now 15 lbs even. It flies a tad tail heavy, which I prefer, but tracks nicely and performs pretty well for an 80" plane at that weight.

1/4 aft of the recommended start point or 1/4 aft of the furthest back that they recommend? ie- 5 3/8 or 5 7/8? I removed the extra batteries used for balance and the redudent pack on the receiver and got it down to a whopping 15 lbs, 9oz. Eeeeeek!

I was considering buying the plane because I think it looks awesome but after reading some negative comments from Jason Noll about its 3D flying characteristics, well, I am not so sure anymore. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...37&postcount=2

Well, thinking I was all done and ready, I plop it on the CG bal'o'meter and sure enough, it's WAYyy tail heavy. What's my set-up you ask? Here goes...

3 - JR 8611a's in the tail
Brillelli 46GT making thrust with the BOM 'muffler'
Single Cell lipo for ignition mounted on the firewall between the mounts
Fromeco 2600mAh Lion on top of the motor box
Fromeco regulator between the gear
CH ignition under the motor bos
Throttle servo in the motor box cutout

With all this up front, it balances at about 6 1/4" which is over 1" aft of where it should be. I guess at this point I'm gonna try moving the motor forward as I really hate pull-pull setups (dont' know why, I just do) and in moving the motor you get a lot of bang for the buck so to speak.

These photos are a little out of date but you can see the motor in pretty good detail. Two minutes into it's first run, without touching the carb, it idled steady at 1375rpm and got about 6550 on the top end with a Xoar 21x8, regular gas, and Penzoil mixed at 40:1.

Motor, mounts, muffler, ignition, battery, tubing, filter, and an extra plug all for $422 delivered.

PS - It will go in with the cowl, I just had it off for something else when I took the photos. Wings in the trunk, flight box in the back. The whole plane in the car with NO disassembly!
