Dude, thanks for breaking that down. That is very cool! That is something I really like about the Daltons. You mentioned taking the distance between the rudder horns then divide by 2. I can't wrap my mind around what you mean. Some very good advice, thanks!

OK folks here you go....... not 7 days but 6 from the crate to the flight line.... 2 flight in this afternoon befor we ran out of light. WOW this is a great plane. I cant say enough about Mark and all the effort he put in. It would be more like crate to flight line in 7 months if I did it. It is a SUPER flying plane. Mark will post some pics tonight. HATs OFF TO MARK on another comp aft build....Thanks Bud

Well she flew and flew well. It is definitely a little nose heavy at this point, but due to the way I mounted the engine that will be very easy to overcome. I used a SWB mount with 1.25 inch standoffs I also tried shimming out most of the right thrust. The plane did pull a little left on uplines so I put the right thrust back in and shortened the standoffs by .25". We ran out of time and didn't get to fly it again. Hopefully we can take it out again before Huckfest. These shots are of me opening up the gap a little to increase aileron throw. Then there are some pics of the gear. I'm real happy with how simple it looks. The push-pull on the rudder worked great with 2 Futaba 9156's. Even with the noseheavy condition I performed several KE loops with ease. Lastly a few pics at the field preparing for the first flight. We should have a video as soon as We get it trimmed out and Bryan at Arerograhix gets the scheme hammered out

I had a great time building this plane with Mark. Everytime I build one I learn something new. Watch out for the new graphix from THE STICKER BIOTCH is going to be off the hook.

Awesome job at gettin-it-dun guys. It must have been terrible knowing that your original yak was destroyed with not a lot of season left to fly. FWIW, I think this Yak with Zang behind the scheme will turn out much better than the other one! Can't wait to see her in person!

One thing I forgot to mention. I haven't built the ducting yet. I wanted to wait until we had a final engine position with length and right thrust. So I checked the engine temp when it landed to make sure it wasn't getting hot. The temp was 148 on the right and 150 on the left. I never had ducting on any of my 3.3's or the 2.6. It doesn't look like it will be nec one this on either.
