Default Do you use the wet method to apply your vinyl graphics?

Is there a good wet method to position and apply vinyl graphics? What type of liquid should be used? Thanks

I use windex. Works great for RC applications.

I use water with a couple drops of dish soap, but Windex works perfectly well too....

If you use windex, how much time it takes for the decals to "dry" after squeegeeing out windex from underneath the decal?

Do you spray windex on the surface to be applied, and the bottom of the vinyl sticker too?

Spray a light mist onto the surface you will be applying the vinyl onto.

Place the vinyl where you want it.

Allow to dry over night.

With Windex, I spray the surface. However I don't think it matters. The goal is a constant film between the sticker and surface. I wait an hour or so before I remove the application tape. After that, I wait until the next day before I check the application. However that's just me. It sets up a lot quicker. I'm not in any rush and I want it to look good.

Taking your time is a very good thing here. However unless the shop you got your graphics from uses an ultra low tack transfer media then as soon as you can get the transfer media off of your graphics without it trying to lift any edges you are set.

I have used windex or soap and water in the past, but it does take a while to dry. Kirby's Kustom sent me a bottle of "Rapid Tac" application fluid with my last graphics order, and it works much better. It is great for multi-layer vinyl applications such as my Cap because it sets up much quicker once you squeegee the air out. I noticed I did not have as many trapped air bubbles with the "Rapid Tac" either. I will be using the "Rapid Tac" on my future projects.

I have had good luck with a tad bit of dish soap in a spray bottle. Barely filmy between the fingers and I apply liberally - then - check link:

Personally,
I slap the graphics on with one eye closed dry style.
And hope for the best.

Personally I believe , angled lettering gives a plane character.
