Looks great, but isn't MDF a bit to heavy for r/c models?

Hi Alex thanks for your concern. I didn't make it entirely clear at the beginning but this will be a fibreglass fuselage/foam wing model. What you are seeing at the moment are the patterns or plugs for fibreglass molds and will end up at the dump. I should be finished the rough shaping this week and will start the surfacing next week. The surfacing will take a couple of weeks and the molds a week. After that I will start building the model. I will start the flying surfaces sooner than that though.

The canopy is shaping up nicely. The lower cowl is ready for shaping. I will do the carb air intake separately.

Sanded off the pipe tunnel hatch. Just the UC recess and the front cowl recess to do. Then onto fine sanding and filling. Will also get a second opinion on the fairing before glassing.
