Perhaps because of the length of the rib, its not a weakness at all. Any thoughts? Obviously building a wing with a continuous front and rear spar would greatly complicate the building process and perhaps would not buy you anthing.

Thanks again for the detailed pictures and construction techniques.

Hi Randy , I don't think its a problem but I would like Jack Strickland to chime in , as he has built a few of these and its his design...

Hi Randy, good question. I can relate to you the strength of the spar, done this way, only in practical application. When one can do a tight 180 degree turn, a pylon turn if you will, with the engine wide open, and an airspeed of 132 mph, and do this many times in a 28 year period with 34% and 40% Lasers, I feel that the gap in the compression webs is of no concern. I for one would not try this with a foam wing.
Regards
Jack

Didn't get much done today, as I have customers to take care of also, and repaired the brakes on my vehicle, but I am close to installing the landing gear...

By golly I think you guys have hit the nail on the head with a solution to the energy problem, everyone must disconnect their brakes in order to save fuel. Great idea.

The money you save can go to your insurance premium.

Well after spending 3 hours on the property for lawn care, I decided to cool down by getting back on the Laser.

I made a bunch of 1/4 square balsa and trial fitted with the bulkheads , so far it is good to go for gluing..
I hope to get back on the wings soon but still waiting for the sheeting.
