This could easily be my favorite build thread of all time. Favorite plane + interesting setup. Looking forward to it!

Roger,
love the HP calculator in your photo. best calc in the world!!!!

so, is this turbine smaller than the ones used to power 35% planes like QQ's and Brian H's?

good luck with the new toy.

I'm not sure on the one QQ uses, but this one is the Wren 44

I am still waiting for the Laser plans, should be this week. In the mean time, I have made the foam cutting bow, but not satisfied with the wire I am using and ordered some nichrome wire.

Here are some of the features for this airplane.

Its a 98" wingspan 34% from Jack Strickland.

boost tabs on all control surfaces

failsafe high power electronic switches by Forgues Research
Fiber Optic servo extensions by Forgues Research

Power board by Forgues Research

Wren 44 turbo prop engine on loan from Hayes Hutchins

The rest will come as the project goes forward.

Roger

Ya the HP calculator is my favorite of all time and mostly these models with the reverse notation with no equal signs.
The one in the picture was purchased in 1980, and changed the batteries only once, I have another one in my office,

Well the pony express has arrived, with the plans, so I am starting tomorow on the wings, I will take as many pictures as possible.

I placed the wren 44 on top of the plans for size and its going to be a perfect match, now I'm excited.

Stay tuned

Roger

Roger, if you get bored waiting for the plane to come together, you could always just build a turboprop lawnmower.
