Hi Jack,
Yes I got the pictures , thank you .
That is the purpose of this build thread is to inspire people .....
For the brass, I am using ordinary brass , this has worked for all the tail wheels I have made so far.

Here is the finished tail wheel with a nylon wheel I made since I didn't have any here,

I drilled a 1/4" hole in the wheel, installed a free floating brass bushing drilled and tapped at both ends with 4-40 , I also tapped the wheel holder the same , then inserted two 4-40 set screws and voila, small , simple and it works

That is the bushing is tight on the wheel holder but acts as a bearing in the nylon wheel.

On the nylon wheel, I made some Knurl also..

Today no pictures but I have been working on the tail end, to make it removable and also I have been fabricating the adjustable clevises for the tail section , I will be using Kevlar .

The reason I am making these is again because I am not close to a hobby shop, besides I enjoy it.

I will post pictures of these, later.

Roger

I like the kevlar passing through the center of that brass bolt. Did you drill that out like that?

Hi Tony,
Yes I make all the parts except for the 2-56 button head screws

I just drilled through the brass part for the right size hole for the kevlar . I need 8 of these with the aluminum clevis and 8 aluminum clevis with the same hole since I will tighten things up from one side only..

Roger

Jack, this Laser is amazing. I have never flown anything like this before. It has instantly become my favorite plane. I have only had the one flight. A throttle servo issue kept my motor at about ¾ power with no ability to decrease speed so I kept all my flying to the very basic stuff, loops and rolls and straight lines.

For the landing I had to line it up on the runway and then kill the motor from the transmitter.

Jack, it was funny to hear my flying buddies yelling at me to keep the nose down and the speed up, this would have been the perfect advise for a heavy 40% with lots of drag. This just wasn’t the case with the Laser, on a no wind day the plane just did a smoooooth 3 point landing. Now that was fun.

Jack, I have put up a thread here on FG with some pictures. I posted my flight experience here to keep Roger interested in finishing his.

Hurry Roger, the summer is winding down and you guy’s get snow upthere, what in October?
