OK guys, I'm back from a wonderfull visit with Hayes Hutchins and his wife in Alabama. I got to see his comp arf yak with the wren 54 turbine fly. I have to say I was blown away with the sound and performance of this engine, spinning a 26*12 prop.

Now I'm really looking forward to finish the Laser...

Sweet! Glad you had some fun! But no, that wasn't the type of trip I thought you had planned. I thought you were going to visit that friend in/near Texas that you had told me about.

Very nice Roger. What glue did you use? Does the screw bottom out on the peg so there is no end load on it? What is the weight of each panel at this stage?

Thanks Rod,
The glue is Polyester Urethane glue under the trademark Gorilla. The dimples in the aluminum is so the glue will expand properly and have some bite to it.

No the screw doesn't bottom out.

As for weight of the panels, I will have to weigh them, I will post these maybe later tonight.

Roger

Hi Roger, Did I miss something? Are the aluminum anti rotation pins threaded for the wing hold bolts, if so this is a very good idea. Later

Wow the post just sat there when I hit submit, so I kept clicking the submit button with the goofy results. Sorry about that.

Jack, that has happened to me so I know what you mean about multiple post..

yes the antirotation pins are made of aluminum, and I drilled out the part inside the wing for weight reduction. Threaded them with 1/4*20 . The hold down is regular 1/4*20 screwed in the nylon knob I made for hand fitting with no tools but if tools are required, then you still have the open end for an allen key.

I will be linning up the second wing later then its nearly ready to cover...

Rod,
The weight of each wing half, including aileron but no covering or servo is 1.8 lbs

Not sure if this is good or not.

Roger
