Thanks Roger, forgot you had the built up wing. Your pushrods look nice and simple, lets see the aileron control horns and their mounting system.

I use a 8*32 threaded rod for the main control linkage screwed into the hardwood insert in the wing.

I do the same for the boost tab but use 4*40 .

Here I have pictures of the control installed on one wing and the servo with the close proximity fiber optic decoder.

Anyway I've asked this of you before and I may have missed the answer.

Doesn't counter balanced control surfaces work in much the same way as a boost tab ? It is on the other side of the hinge line and the airstream is pushing on it assisting the servo in much the same way ? Or am I too far gone to understand ?

I guess my question really is why do boost tabs work so much better ?
Hello Zoomer, Just wanted to explain my experence with a rudder boost tab on my 40% Laser. This was my 1st try at a boost tab. Before the tab my rudder wea blown almost to a no deflection at wot. I was using 2 servos on the rudder with a total of 270 inch ounces of torque. The picture of the boost tab is enclosed. Now the plane will do a knife edge loop! I know this is not a IMAC manuever, it just points out the effect of the boost tab. I would be very caucious about balancing any control surface, as I have had a flutter on ailerons doing this. Just my experence with balancing. The tab on the rudder is about 10%, and it does a great job on the rudder.
