Hope you don't mind me posting the pics of the fueler here.

I told you guys I was going to do an engine start this week, well didn't happen. Too bloody cold.

On the other hand, I decided the cowling didn't come out the way I was hoping so I am removing the thin aluminum , and will redo the finish .

Well guys, the temperature has gone up and I have finished programing the Turbro engine

I have initiated a start with propane only and this has gone well all also.

I am waiting for my buddy to come over to do a full start, and if this goes well which it should, then wait impatiently for spring...

I hope to have a video for the engine run up.

Roger

I can't believe that I passed up this thread so many times. I just read the whole thing through and all I can say is Holy S!!! Talk about dedication, with all the self-made products and all. I wish I had the space to do a build like this, but I don't think I'd have the patience. I hope you plan to attend Joe Nall. I'd love to look this thing over well once you're done. Great job and thanks for the extremely detailed thread. There are tons of quality pics with noted details for every step. I feel like I just gained some I.Q. points just from reading. Keep up the great work and good luck with your move.

Thank you for you compliments, I am now blushing....

Joe Nall is one I would like to attend, time will tell.

Some updates guys,
I had the Laser outside a few days ago to give it a good runnup, I know it was cold, well its a scary beast, can't wait for spring. The vibration level is well non exhausting like an electric motor.

While being couped up in the shop , I have been working on another project with Hayes, to make a small spot welder ... we will need to make extensions on the turbo prop exhaust .

Here are some pictures, and I hope to test it next week. Using my miller tig welder as the power source .

I'm glad to see you are extending the stacks as I am in a club with a guy with a wren turbo prop that burnt the covering of his QQ yak because of the position of the stacks.

Could you guess how far the exhaust stacks were from the wing? I am running a Wren 54 in a Composite ARF YAK 55 2.6 meter and have only residue from the fuel burn on the wings! No obvious damage. Sure don't want to burn anything except Jet A-1. :-)

What a great build, and what a great build thread! Congrats, nice looking plane, looking forward to see some flying video!!

Can't believe I have missed this thread until today. I have bought an old 33% Lanier Laser 200 a couple of months ago as my first big scale plane. I have been reading a lot of threads about the Laser to get ideas for rebuilding/repairing and adjusting my own Laser.

I was very pleased to see all those close-up shots and clear explanation of how the boost tabs work. Guess I will need those too

Great job, please keep posting pics and hopefully you can show us a flight video as well.
