Default Stab incidence problem on BME Edge

Any suggestions on fixing a horizontal stab problem? The right checks at 0 and the left at +2. Should I replace the guide pin or redrill the hole in the fuse? Any suggustions would be helpful.

Im not familar with the bme edge...but i had this problem on a wildhare 540 and all i did was enlogate the hole on the side of the fuse. and filled the remaining of the hole with epoxy so the incidence wouldn't change.

If you can get to the inside of the fuse on the opposite side you can put a backer of some kind on the backside and all i did was put a piece of wax paper in between the fuse and the stab. and put a little vaseoline on the pin so the epoxy wouldn't stick to it. and just put a little epoxy on the sloted part and let it set up a little. then pulled the stab out to see if the hole got filled.

hope this helps

Thanks Dennis, I can reach all the way back there, so that is an option, but the pin doesn't go through much farther than the existing doubler. It looks like the pin in the stab was glued in at an angle, so I am still considering drilling it out and replacing it since I have some 1/4" dowel.

Have you considered talking to Max at BME and getting a new stab or pair of stabs? Installing a new dowel might be ok but sometimes they go pretty deep into the stab, it could get involved. I'm more or less "build handicapped" so maybe it's just me, but I'd try to get a new stab.

This is a pretty nice flying ARF, I have one with about 50 flights on it.

Thats what I would do. Get that thing out of there, puut a new one in and align your stab.
once its at 0 deg, pull it out slightly, and get a plastic syringe of thing CA and "tack" the dowl in place, pull the stab and epoxie that guy in for good. Should be perfect!

Good luck!

Got'er dun! I ended up cutting the pin off flush and redrilling the hole 2 ribs deep, inserted a new pin and checked it and it was at 0. Pulled the pin and expoxied her up, slipped it back on with waxed paper between fuse and stab. It's good to go. Thanks guys for all the input.
