I didnt have a manual. and the plane looks good zac. The wings on mine are gone as can be. trust me. I could fix it if I had the wings and tubes. but a guy I know has an AM yak NIB Im going to buy when I have the money. I might just wait and buy the parts to fix it later. |

Zach, How's the Brison acting? I have owned several 3.2s, and might be able to help. I'm back on my Planes Plus Extra... I have a Brillelli 60cc mounted.

One other note. I have been using Dubro 12oz or 16oz tanks on my other <30% models... (with DA50's, and Brison 3.2s)... More than enough gas for a solid 12 minute flight. I have a 20oz tank on my 33% Hanger9 Extra/3W80xi combo... 12 minutes of flying will leave about a 1/4 tank left...

You really don't need a manual for this plane. Builds like any other ARF. Balance it on or just behind the wing tube and it will fly just fine. I'm actually thinking about gutting mine and putting the stuff in my KMP Edge (Ebay special). Not sure yet though. Carla does not have a manual for this thing. If you can get the Columbo Anderson manual that would help. I believe they are the same plane. Jay |

actually the columbo anderson model is designed very close but the builds are completly diff. the chip hyde models are very similar because there built at the same factory! frieshoo where did you get that velocity stack? also i was flying and did a verticle snap and the plastic canopy came off... so i ordered a new one but it has come after a month. i also just got an i4c isolator that i think im going to instal if i can aquire a small battery! right now the plane flys like its tail heavy so im going to have to check that!

This thread hasn't been posted to in a while. Hope it's OK to resurrect! I'm assembling one of these myself. Although I've put a few dozen models together, I'm learning a lot about "giant scale" from this build. Question: someone was planning to knock out the provided metric blind-nuts and replace with standard. I want to do this, at least on the gear, but worry about damaging the laser cut wood that the nuts are bonded to. Did they just use epoxy? If so, a little heat should soften it enough to be able to punch them out. The stab/elevator setup has me a little concerned - the ply root rib flexes pretty easily where the retaining bold holds it - is this enough? I worry it will crack and I'll lose half my stab! Did anyone address the rudder control horn - elevator conflict? Although from others' comments I don't think I'll be using 3D throws on this for a while, the elevator will hit the rudder control horn at about 40deg down, with similar throw on the rudder. Solution seems to be to simply hack the corner off the elevator.. Working my way through each issue. Just ordered a set of SWB horns as, of course, none of the provided horns (Hitec - 4x5645MG + 1x5745MG) are anywhere near large enough.. What did you do to retain the wheel pants? I put a small ply plate on the inside, around the hole for the axle, and screwed through the gear. Seems sturdy enough - but I'm not sure this is sufficient. Where did you end up with your CG? On the joiner tube sounds good but I'm curious where more experienced pilots felt it needed to be.. I'm using the Hanger 9 27% Extra 260 assembly guide for reference. Lots to learn.. ..a Last edited by Andy W; 01-17-2007 at 04:27 PM. Reason: Added question.. |
