That's really depressing to hear about the wing failures. Still, I am not what I consider an advanced pilot, so I'm not going to worry about the wing for now. Y'all can point fingers and say "I told you so" if it fails, but for now my head's in the sand!

I've been stalled for a week waiting on a friend to mail me some clear covering to cover the hinge gaps. That arrived late last week, so I hope to continue moving forward this coming week.. Not too much to do - once all the gaps are sealed, and horns & linkages installed, I can start to figure out where to place the rudder servo, Rx battery/regulator and main power battery. Then I'll have to build a tray of some type for the main battery, and should be good to go!

I've heard everyone say "balance it on the spar" but the spar is over an inch in diameter - where *exactly* do you experienced folk put the CG on this one?

Balance it a bit foward of the tube (nose heavy) if you are not sure, mine was tail heavy for the maiden and that wasnt fun! You can bring it back slowly as you get used to the plane.

Also remember to balance the plane UPSIDE DOWN otherwise it will be tailheavy, that was the mistake I made. Lucky for me I managed to land without any damage but the plane was fighting me all the way.

Thx for the CG info.

The instrument panel was simply a picture of an Extra's panel from the web, scaled to fit the panel section of the cockpit.

Hey folks, I'm getting back to my Extra - just want to be sure, there's no issue running the output of two Fromeco regulators in parallel, right? I understand the source batteries will drain at different rates, I'm just looking for redundancy.
Thanks!

Andy! After that extra cockpit detailing, were you going to teach Scoobie Dooo to read all those cool meters and gauges?
Let's get a human pilot in there! (just serious funin' ya.)

And I too think it is quite a find to have a archer friend with "P51 spinners" up front
