Fist off... if my post needs to be moved somewhere else, move it or let me know and I'll close it and move it. This is more like a referral to the finishing of this plane than really a build thread. Anyway, my buddy is currently building this airplane and has sold 2 of them. He's only selling 4 so there are only two left. You can find the specs and price on rcu at: http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=195167 The first plane he sold has two threads going right now so if you have a few minutes, take a look. http://www.downonthedeck.com or http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4244300/tm.htm Thanks, Craig Rideout |

It looks just like the Troy Built/Roman Built Von Extra 260 I just got from Roman Built Models. Is this a new builder for this design? Why are only 4 being made?

| aviti, the plane is similar to the TBM/Von design because it was built off of Dave's (D. Von) drawings... but Jim has done some other things to it, making things better as he goes along. Jim is not really a new builder (on the manufacturer scale) of the plane... he not wanting to take the plane and build thousands (not really what his scope is for the plane), he just notived that he could build this plane better and offer new features that might be appealing to the higher end market... also the 3D market. Jim is only building four because... in his words... "I'm old and tired and want to make enough beans to buy a 42% Dalton". Anyway, let me know if you have any questions... I hope I answered yours... or you can call Jim at 325-572-5200. My number is: 325-665-4452. You are welcome to call anytime. Thanks, Craig Rideout |
