Default Krill 39% Sukhoi assembly

Thought I'd post a few photo's of the Sukhoi which arrived today. I bought it through Chief and want to say thanks to Donnie for getting it air freighted direct from their factory.

I'm very happy with it. The paint is great and the quality and prefabrication is a step on from the previous Krill I built.

Set up will be 3w 170CS on KS 1090 pipes, JR 1222 RX with unregulated thunder power Lipo's to JR 8711HV servo's.

By the time my wife came home with the camera, I'd managed to bolt the engine on - I think this is going to go together fast as long as I can get all the bits together

Sorry about the very messy toy rom it's being built in

Plane looks great, I've had two of the Yak 55's. there was more building than i expected but it allowed me to do custom things inside the fuse.

Does the canopy come preinstalled?
Is the motor dome preinstalled?
Are the control horn points precut?

I realy like the plane and would love to have one, but it has to fly IMAC better than the Yak55

Yup - what Donnie said!

Canopy, cowl preinstalled, Tank tray in place and mount for rudder servo's is in!

The motor dome is molded into the fus as opposed to the Yak which is separate. It doesn't have the side thrust built in but it was simple enough to set and the motor dome is mounted accurately enough to get a good fit on the motor with little effort.

Control horn hard points are preinsatlled also.

The reason I've gone with this plane is I plan on using it in IMAC next year. Word from some friends back in Europe is it's a great precision plane.

Ironically the servo tray has been cut out and it seems to be a perfect fit for the 1090 pipes.........

A couple of quick cuts and it's tuned pipe ready. I have just rough cut everything, so will clean it up and start looking at cooling next. Because the rudder tray has been removed, I'm going to look at mounting the rudder servos in the tail and using direct drive. I'm going to do an initial CG check before this (although I have no manual so not sure where CG should be but sure I can make a good guess!)

Thanks for the info, I was one of the first one's to have the Yak last year. I have learned from that, i wont buy until i know a plane will do what i wont it to do. Especially for the price of a Krill.

Hey Donnie my godfrey is about done and in the bones, just got to throw some covering and paint at it and come up with a motor/servo's/everything else and i'm back in business.

It sucks when you sell everything you got and have to buy all new stuff!!!!

I love my Yak55 and I will put it up against ANY plane. Setup is the key in any plane.

The more I do on the plane the more I love it! It's going together great.

Got a bit more done yesterday but didn't get time to post anything. I'm trying to get as many bits done as I can before I get a mass order of servo's and bits in the mail from Chief. I also ordered some pipe mounts and a few other bits from Gerhard at AI which should hopefully be here today.

Pictures speak for themselves - Cut pipe exits and cleaned up the holes for the headers. I've not shown it but I also reinforced the area between the header cutouts with some carbon square tube. I also lengthened the headers by 1". Got the horns in the tail surfaces, a couple of cooling slots around the ignition and I've cut a little piece out of the cowl for the air scoop. As I go, I'm trying to give all the parts a few coats of wax. Did the rudder yesterday but seem to be avoiding the big bits........

Forgot to mention - I also removed a little material from the rudder to increase throw (it's limited by the cutout around the hinge).
