Much to my wife's dismay I purchased the NEW 87" wingspan Edge 540 by lanier models today. First impression I AM BLOWN AWAY! Fit and finish on this rig is perfect, from the cowl to the stab tubes, everyting lines up and fits excellent. I will do a build thread on this unit because all I hear is "Laniers suck, they are heavy" This plane is not heavy!! For it's size it compares to the extreme flight yak!! I think this will help to make Lanier a houshold RC name again. Stay tuned BTW The kit sells for around 625 Canadian, but comes complete with all hardware. Wheels, fueltank, tailwheel assy, pushrods, robart hinges. Everything but the spinner!!! Very good value. Can ya tell im STOKED!!!

For sure!! Drop a build thread!! Pictures... I just got an issue of Fly Rc or something like that, And there is a big review of this 540. And the guy who reviewed the plane said "It is simply aswome!!" So you should dig this bird! Nice plane dude!

BTW the wings are VERY light, even with dual servos I am sure they will come out much lighter than my katana wings. Another disclaimer, I am fairly new to this game, this is not my first gasser set up, but it is only my third. any pointers or things you folks see that ya don't like let me know. Here are some pics, and my first attempt at robart hinges, they came out pretty good. BTW to all you CA hinge haters, what is it you don't like about them, are they just too easy to install? Too strong? LOL!

| Got the Aileron Hinging done. Frst attempt at Robarts, went good. All holes are predrilled and lined up perfectly.

Looks really nice so far. I really like how it comes with the holes pre-drilled for Robarts Hinge points, and it comes with the hinges too. Both of my gassers came pre-hinged with CA hinges so the first thing I did was change to Robarts. What do you plan on for a setup? DA50? They show a DA50 on Lanier's website but would a DA50 be enough for decent 3D? The ailerons looks plenty large as do all of the other control surfaces.
