Default Carden 260 build thread

I have decided to do a basic build thread on my Carden 260.. This is my first real build. If anyone has any tips or tricks feel free to chime in... This plane will take some time to complete. Between two jobs, family and general life stuff I'm hoping to have it completed this coming spring.
Building a Carden has been a dream for some time. I can say what little time I have spent on building in my shop is almost as much fun as flying

Here are the proposed specs :

Carden 40% 260 with lightening mods
Tapered Ailerons
Lightened Stock landing gear chrome plated
DA-150
Mejzlik 28.5x12 3 Blade or 32-10 Mejzlik 2 bBade
MTW Cannisters & 90MM Drop Flex Headers or standard mufflers ( still undecided)
SWB 2.5dg Motor Mount
Tru-Turn spinner chrome plated
JR 8611A's on flight surfaces
1- DS8231 for Throttle
SWB Double lock servo arms
1-Futaba R5014DPS G3 reciever
1-Futaba 14MZ Transmitter
2- Fromeco 4800's Peerless
1- Fromeco 2400 Peerless on Ignition
3- Fromeco Badger Switches (pull pin type)
Rocket City Hardware
H9 Pro-links.

Here's where its going down.. My building table. It has 32 jack-screws and a 3/4 Birch ply top that adjustable. You can get it dead flat..

This is an construction pic from a year or so ago... There is tons of crap piled on it now

Here is the motorbox, nothing to fancy here. Just make sure everything is dead square and built over the plans. Construction was done with 30min epoxy.
I shaved 7.1 oz ( not counting the sawdust ) with my circle-cutter. If you don't have one of these get one... Drill in with the pilot drill and cut over half way, flip over and cut through the other side. You will have a clean hole with no burrs. They work great !

Here are the completed fuse sides, They are 3/8 balsa, sheeted with 1/8 balsa and built over the plans. I clamp down two pieces of 1/8 x 1.000 aluminum bar for a jig and built everything inside. I did a little lightening work on the rear of the fuse sides. I know there isn't much weight to be trimmed but I want to cover those areas transparent

Sorry for the pic quality... I'm still figuring out my camera lol

Verrry nice job so far Brian!

I guess with that building board, you're new bird will be all jacked up......

Now that I've got my Edge in the air, you'll have to come up some time and fly with us again at PropBusters!

Craig, the quality of wood is perfect. Im a machinist by trade. I took all the precut parts like the formers and firewall and put my machinist squares on them. They were dead nuts on square... Very nice

Thanks for everyone's positive comments !!
