I know the only thing worse would be flying a full scale in that scheme !!!

You are going to love it. Harriers really well. But to really get it to hover well you'll need to get it tail heavy. It likes to fall on its face a lot in a hover. Other than that it flies really well. Mine has a TOC 120 in it.

Video! Re: 1/3rd scale cap 580

I love mine (I have two of them) with DA-100 of course! This is the second I built and flown. On this one, I moved the engine rearward about 1.5 inches and put about 1.5 deg of upthrust on the engine to help keep the nose up. Hovers easier but still pulls forward in high alpha maneuvers although it still a bit nose heavy. Here's a video w/smoke I just got done with:

www.terynd.com/public/cap580-10.23.06.wmv (55 Mb WMV w/ music)

My setup is less fancy compared to 3ddd's (first post). I built my plane completely stock with Hitec 5945 servos, JR R790 synthesized receiver, Jr 9303 transmitter, Sullivan Skywriter and Super Dri Aviation Smoke oil.

You're gonna love it, I love mine. Flys great IMAC. I just finished modifying mine to take canisters. A Lot of work but worth it for such a great airplane. The DA100 pulls it really well. Does amazing tail slides ... it will fall backwards for a long long way

The scheme looks great in the air (both full scale and 1/3 scale.)

Good question. I am getting a lot of oil on the plane even with the pump rate down low. It's really an ugly situation after I am done flying. You can turn the rate lower (via the transmitter) but there is hysteresis in the system and it may not come back on after it is turned off. So running it at a good rate leaves oil. I am going to try to use a clamp on the lines to the muffler to slow the flowrate down. This way the pump will have enough to start and stop properly at the flip of the switch, but the flowrate will be lower.
