I have noticed that people respond in a strange manner in my area while driving on a highway with stoplights.

Red - they don't slow down because they think the light will turn green before they get there, then slam on their brakes when it doesn't.

green - they slow down because it might change before they get there.

Yellow - stomp the gas pedal to the floor to try to make it through before it turns red
