Ok, let the sparks fly. I am really not fond of the reach around stance, but the sidestance I have used many times to teach a new pilot, with very good results. After the first couple flights i think the buddy box is a better way to go. For the first flight or two I find a sidestance with the instructor always on the stick, to help the student learn that small and smooth movement is all it takes (to fly the damn plane, get your mind out of the gutter) after that is mastered, the buddy box works well as the security blanket/plane saver. JMO

I'll bet the little guy being trained said "I'll let you teach me to fly....but will you respect me in the morning"? "The BA$TARD didn't even call me the next day! I just feel so cheap, used and dirty"
