| editor ![]() | I have a new plane. Dalton 260 42%. I would like to hear from anyone who has or had one, flies IMAC Advanced or above and knows the details of their plane set up. Please tell me where your CG is. Whether you change it for freestyle and what are your throws are for IMAC. Throws for snaps. Throws for rollers. I will pay you for this detailed info!! Do you use switches when you do snaps? Spins? I prefer to fly on one rate throughout my routine but am willing to learn something new if I need to. I have a JR 9303 but also have a 10x I can use it would be better. I appreciate anyones input. Been flying IMAC 2 years so I dont know half of what I need to know. Darren Bonney Lake WA |

| Lesebergs pit bitch ![]() | Darren, The CG is 4.25" back from the LE measured at the wing tip. For control throws I like to fly on one rate. I max out the rudder use 13 degress up and down on elevator and 28 up and 26 down on ailerons. Also will need a downline mix of about 1% at low throttle. The engine thrust should be set unless using a 3 blade prop. You may need one washer more right thrust if using a 3 blade.

| Lesebergs pit bitch ![]() | Yes it will take some practice but thats how I have done it. I set the rudder up so that I have just enough throw to do Stall turns and thats it. You can set up a dual rate on a switch for the rudder if you like.

| editor ![]() | Tony? I thought maybe you were a relation to Tony. But you are the creator of my plane who is making me a helmet head. I hear you been very busy with changes. No problem on the helmet. Let me know if its still doible. Anyway about the rudder. Sorry to keep bugging you on this, I think got everything else. You have a certain amount of throws and you fly on one rate for snaps, point rolls, rollers etc. Let me know if I am wrong. But the rudder. You have it set for a lot of throw? Or a small amount? I want to fly on one rate all the time for precission. Thats what I am used to. So if I can get this right I will be done with this. If you leave your rudder on a certain rate for percision without changing it for any manouver can you tell me about how much throw? Example: Just enough for a medium speed knife edge? Or the same amount you would have for 3D? Thanks Darren |

| Lesebergs pit bitch ![]() | I fly Imac all on one rate. For the rudder I also fly on one rate. I would guess at least 40 degress on the rudder. I was saying that you could setup a switch just for the rudder if it helps you. This is all just personal preference. For me I would rather learn to fly without having to remember to flip different switchs for different manuvers.

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() ![]() | I fly rates similar to Tony, except I fly a lower rudder rate. An easy way to set a lower rate rudder for snaps is to have just enough low rate rudder to maintain level flight in knife edge. I use a flight condition with my Futaba's. I only switch rates for hammerheads and rolling circles, which basically is maxed out rudder. I fly everything else in my snap rate, which is the same elevator and aileron rate Tony mentioned. | Fly it like you stole it ! ![]() | I've built a few of the Dalton's and fly real close to what Tony has for throws. I think its always best to keep the switch throwing to a minimum, that being said, I do have a "Roller" condition on my Futaba. |

| editor ![]() | Thanks for the help everyone! Today I am going to the field with all the info you gave me. I will try to set up for one rate only. If that doesnt work then I will us a switch but most likely only for doing rollers. I have another question if anyone is still reading this. I am just entering advance so snaps will be an issue for me. Do you guys unload snaps or hold everything till you are done? I am finding that on some snaps the plane is completely discombobulated by the time the snap is complete. Example: 45 upline interted- do a 1 1/2 negitive snap. Should I learn to take out some elevator during the snap? Or just do my best to get the plane back on track after the violent manouver? What about speed into the 1 1/2 snap? Should I make sure its not too fast? Or slow? Thanks in advance Darren |

| Hi-tech Red Neck! ![]() | Sounds like it is getting way to deep in the snap. I fly a similar setup, except I fly with about 18-20 degrees of aileron throw from center, about 30-35 degrees of rudder... in IMAC mode. I do unload the elevator on 45 degree uplines for the last quarter turn or so to keep it online. I set up Flight Modes, Mode 0 being: IMAC rate, Mode 1: land and take off rate, which has max rudder and a higher elevator rate and no downline mix, Mode 2: 3D, max everything.
