Will and I spent last night at the field getting things ready (well, Will worked his butt off and I sat on the mower). It is looking good out there. Mark Jorgensen and John Boyko were already getting in some practice. Just wanted to share a few specifics about the weekend: 1. There is no flying at the field before 9 am. If the turnout is significant - looks like it will be - then we will begin flying IMMEDIATELY at 9. Will and I both have a pet peeve about waiting around to fly, so be ready. If the turnout is light (not gonna happen), we may get an hour of practice flying in before we start. Don't bet on it. 2. Dinner Saturday night will be rotisseree chickens and Silver Queen sweet corn. Free to pilots - $5 to non-pilots. Come hungry. 3. To determine the unknown flight order on Sunday, we will take the order of registration (from Saturday morning) and reverse it. My suggestion - get there early and register immediately or you will lead off the unknowns in your class. 4. Unknowns will be handled to encourage Saturday night flying all the way until dark. 5. The first judges for the opening rounds will be selected from the late registrants. So register early (need any more incentives to get registered?). This is going to be a first class contest at a first class facility. Bring your "A" game. Most of all, come out an enjoy what IMAC is all about - flying, friends, and fun. Directions can be found here: http://www.mini-iac.com/EditModule.aspx?tabid=1&mid=462&def=Contest%20Viewer&ItemId=1575 So - who's coming? Ken Last edited by rcplanefan; 08-10-2006 at 09:47 AM. |

Thanks for posting Ken. In addition, I will pass out a "cheat sheet" of scoring criteria to every pilot at the pilots meeting. We may cover the items if given time. My hope is to encourage accurate scoring best as possible. Thanks to Fred Johnson for coming up with the sheet for us to use. I will expect everyone to judge and may need a little help with scribing. I intend on using the pilot list in reverse order all the way through for judging. There is supposed to be a D.J. in the house for the campfire and after hours flying. The Chicken and Corn is awesome so eat all you can, then go back for more! We are not billing this as a party, it is an IMAC event that we can enjoy and share time with great friends. We are looking forward to seeing everyone. Thanks everyone. Will Berninger |
