| Dorr Field Fly-In full scale Stearmans in Merigold, MS Hey everybody,
I wanted to pass along some information to everyone regarding a new event that will be in Merigold this year. For those who don't know the history of the flying field in Merigold, we now fly on what use to be the Merigold School of Aeronautics. It was owned and operated by Johnny and Dorothy Dorr from 1952 until he passed in 1987. Most of the aircraft used for agricultural training her were Stearmans and many of you have seen the clipped wing Stearman that is in the hanger still today. Mrs. Dorr has kindly allowed us to establish our club on this property where we host the annual (and sometimes bi-annual) Extreme Aerobatic Club events! Since we have moved the EAC event to November, another "Big Bird" fly-in will be taking place here the first weekend in May. Two of the original three runways (16/34 & 9/27) will be repaired and prepaired to host a full scale Stearman Fly-in. (We currently fly off part of the original the third runway 18/36 so this event will have no affect on our flying) A lot of effort is going to be put into this event, and I have been asked if any of the EAC crew would be willing to do a demonstration flight for a demo. I do know for some of you this would be a long trip just for one or two flight, but if your interested in coming for the show and would like to participate please let me know.
Thanks and see you soon,
Jeremy
