Default Arizona Electric Festival - FUN!

Hi,
Mrs. MadMax here, just wanted to throw out a post regarding the event we went to this past weekend out in Mesa, AZ. It was fun! Here's a wife's point of view ...

There were some awesome planes out there and I saw some great flying, especially during the demos by Mark L., Chip Hyde, Jason Schulman, and a trio by Rabbit Ron, Plane Bender and Mithrandir. There were also some heli demos by "Fat" Matt and this dude Bryce - his demo made me want to crawl under my chair for protection, it was sick! Chip and Jason busted out the Double Tunnel Vision and there were also some flying wings that went over 160mph! I also finally got to see what the big deal is with "Dalton Aviation" - Mark L. flew a Dalton that I thought was absolutely amazing. I have no idea if it was the plane or the top notch pilot, but I have never seen better flying (oh, except the last time I saw MadMax fly - oops!) Never thought I'd ever say this about a plane but it was a real beauty .... Hmm, I better go hide the credit cards.

Arizona Model Aviators put on a great event. The field was awesome, complete with cacti, blue skies, and a picturesque background.
Ok, for most of you this may not be a big deal, but I haven't been to many events, so this was a cool experience for me! I met some great people, everyone there was really nice, very friendly and welcoming, and there was a lot of cool stuff for a non-flyer to enjoy. I honestly had no idea that electric planes were so bad ass. I'm really bummed that our digital camera took a dump and I have no pics, but Max got tons of video footage and he's working on editing it all... you do know that he's on the computer about three feet from me. Maybe I'll email him and say Hi.

Buh Bye from momo

Max, do you have any idea how lucky you are to have a wife that digs your hobby as much as Momo does?

The fly-in was my 3rd. My first was the Cirkus Fly-In believe it or not, and it rocked. We drove from OKC to Cali just for that purpose... thanks to Lauren giving me the ok. There are a few supportive ladies and I don't take it for granted at all. We are very lucky!

The electric festival was also really cool, and it was nice to see Max and Momo out there too, along with a few other FG crew members. I have a few pics of Max in compromising positions, which I will lay out a bit later. Until then, here are a few pics.

Bring the kids to the field. It was a good way to talk to Bill Hempel... your kid befriends his. Whatever it takes!

Here are a few more pics....
This was the first time I have ever flown in front of a crowd, and it was awesome as well as scary as heck. Not to mention it was not even my plane I was flying, and it was the 3rd flight on it when Jason Shulman comes up to ask if he can give it a shot. What can you say? Nothing, but........ "bow to your sensei"

Do you think I want a round house kick to the head when Jason is wearing a Futaba jacket? Forget about it!
