MAN O MAN... what a day! A few weeks back I got a call from Papa Joe Stek, asking if I could make it to a fly-in the week before Nall. I said.. Ummm perhaps. Where is it? He said on the Ohio/Pa boarder (about 1 hour from my house) I said I'm in... really not knowing what to expect. Well I arrived today around 9am, and I was instantly overwhelmed by the generosity of Dr. Jim Martuccio. He opens up his private flying field to his friends and a few others his close friends have invited. All in all around 35 to 40 pilots. This is the third year of this event and the largest turnout yet! Rules are simple... respect the land, respect the AMA rules, enjoy your self and BRING BIG PLANES! Dr. Jim provided breakfast , lunch, drinks through out the day and dinner for us.. and I mean REAL FOOD... It was so good! Thanks again! This guy hosts an event with unbelievable class. And everyone in attendance showed appreciation. The facility is a wide open very flat runway with PLENTY of room to get your HUCk on. In fact it was big enough that a few of Dr. Jim's full scale buddies decided to come out and do some 100% hucking. (Snap-a-saurs was mad, there were planes bigger than his ) In a few of the shots below.. the planes are not landing... those are full speed passes with the wheels touching.... INSANE on the deck full scale action! Many Giants members were in attendance, and the over all vibe was really cool. Nothing but helping hands, good times and GREAT STORIES and some good flying thrown in as well. The event carries on tomorrow as well, but family commitments keep me from going back... but I'm sure those guys will have a ball tomorrow as well! I can't wait for next year!! PS.. in a few shots below you can see that after much deliberation we figured out a new purpose for a Matt Chapman pilot head!

Hey Sleepy, Just checking out the site before heading back out to the field this morning. Yes, Doc does want to do it right, and for all to have a good time. It looked like you enjoyed yourself despite your problems, and that is the idea with this event......A Good Time. Who knows, maybe we are on our way with the start of something special like Joe Nall. See you next week at Nall, but hope to see you next year at the "Martuccio Big Bird fly-in" where all that is needed are BIG ONES.

So far nothing but great time, had no idea that people like Jim Martuccio still exists, the Doc invites us to his property, good food, drinks, free Tshirts and graphics, some of the nicest people in the hobby in attendance, lots of big birds and we get to see real airplanes hucking, what more can you ask for, I am glad I came, thank you Doc and I will come again if I get invited.

Yea.. The Doc's hospitality is something to behold. Also.. Papa Stek and Dave Kelly really seemed to help the Doc. put on the show.. so shouts to them... and also.. Elie...(SNAP) where ever he is... its a party... I have witnessed generally quiet men get around Elie, and with in 1 hour they are yelling SNAP-A-SAURUS at the top of thier lungs! So Elie.. your fun spirit is truly BAD ASS! MAN.. I'm kind of bummed I can't go back today. (Found a few more shots)

Yea Sleepy, You missed another fun day. I get to the field early as usual, and someone finally beat me there. Albert Santiago, and his dad Edwin. They were ready to get started. I put a flight on before breakfast arrived along with the others to attending today. French toast and an egg su-flay, Mmmm Good. then we got down to some flying. Dave Michael and his buddy also got some more flying in before having to hit the road in the early afternoon. But left with big smiles on their faces after eating the noon time lunch of pizza. Elie put on another flyin huckfesting clinic and had a fun time doing it. It is hard not to be yelling "BAD A$$" after you hang around Elie. By the way, great job Elie. Albert and Dave did some practicing their unlimited sequences and the rest of enjoyed watching. Well after a long afternoon the rest of all us parted and I just arrived home. It was great to see all those that traveled having a great time and hope to see you all again this fall. Doc, does not post, but I know he would want to thank all those that attended also, and I know he enjoyed it a great deal. I want to Thank Doc for all his hospitality and his wife, Pam. She did all the running around to get and bring all the food to the field for all the hungry fliers. See you guys around the fly-in events through the summer.

| Joe, Sleepy and all: Had great time- only wish it could have lasted longer. I'll be back again. The hospitality was wonderful and, as usual, the comradarie was the highlight. Dave Michael |
