Default TUSCALOOSA 3D THROWDOWN MAY 22,23,24

TUSCALOOSA
3D THROWDOWN

West Alabama Aero Modelers presents our 1st Annual
Giant Scale 3D Event – the Tuscaloosa 3D Throwdown
May 22, 23, 24 - Memorial Day Weekend!
We feel like this is an advantage for most pilots traveling here that have Memorial Day off. Now, you can stay for a full day Sunday instead of leaving early to travel home or even stay and fly Monday as well.
We are very excited about this being an annual event now and expect it to grow huge in a hurry! So, put it on your calendar – Memorial Day Weekend – Tuscaloosa, AL.

There will be some Awesome HUCKIN' Going On!!!

If you haven’t been to our field within the last year – you are in for a treat!
This is one of the premier flying sites in the nation.
We have a HUGE flyover area (hay field) with NO obstructions. Our Clubhouse is a concrete building with Power, A/C, Fridge, Microwave, Water Cooler, and it also has Air Conditioned Men’s and Women’s Restrooms.
We have huge Pilot Sheds on concrete with nice tables and power outlets.
There is also room for EZ UP’s as well.
For those of you who came last year and wanted gates closer to the pilot sheds, we just had 2 more installed in the fence - one around the last pilot shed on each end. This makes it much easier to get your stuff in and out and not have to walk around by the clubhouse.

RV’s and Campers are welcome, although we currently do not have hookups for you, we do have water spigots/hoses available to refill fresh water tanks, etc. and power outlets in the sheds.

The field will be locked and secure at night, so feel free to leave your trailers on site if you want to.

Pilot Fee: $25 – includes lunch on Sat. and Sun.
Concessions including Drinks, Chips, Crackers, & CandyBars will be available every day –
Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will also be available on Sat. and Sun.
We will have a 50/50 Cash raffle on both Sat. and Sun.

There are plenty of hotels and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Local Hotels and their distance from the field:

Best Western Catalina Inn – 205-339-5200 – (4.5 miles)

I believe you're right. They came last year, but it was in July and not as "official", lol. I've got alot of good feedback on this year's participation. I think it'll be a great turnout. Hope you can make it.

I'll probably be there! I'll have to get ahold of Mike, Joey, Hal, and all and see if they're coming.

Sounds Good Jack! Always enjoy your flying. I know Wes and Reezie are coming and have talked to quite a few others that are making the trip. I'm sure Hal will make it and I will talk to Joey as well. Get Mike on board too.

Chacy,
Reezie and I will be there!!! We will see you on Friday to fly all weekend. We have already talked to Hal, Big D, and Big A (allen) they are in plus bringing all the LA (lower AL) guys. All you guys that are riding the fence get that pickett out of your and come on this will be a good one. Lots of new aircraft including two of new Areo-Works Ultimates. Plus Tim Harry (Game Over) and Big A both have new Aero-Works 260 that are ready for some down low air-mixen.
This is great facility that's awesome for 3D flying.
Steady your nerve and get your here!
See you!
Reezie and Wes
