hey guys! i live about 1 hour east from cincinnati. about 35 minutes north of maysville. i talked to the lady i'm going to have do the food. let me say she is ONE AWESOME COOK!!!! she is going to have a stand and sell food for lunch and such and then we are going to have a dinner on saturday night. she is planning on doing a pig roast with all of the fixins (cole slaw,baked beans,fruit,baked mac &cheese).the dinner will be covered with the entrance fee or if we get enough manufacturer donations we'll use that. i generally have a bon fire on saturday night for my annual imac contest so i think we'll do the same. maybe some fireworks as well. ask any imac-er i don't ever underdo anything.lol. if anyone wants to do a mapquest, here is my address.

I can vouch for Toby's IMAC. It is a great place to burn carnage!!! Don't ask me how I know, but I do......... And for some retarded ass reason, I still have my old 330S wings that are destroyed.... Don't have a fuse to go with them, but the stabs and vert are in FINE shape.

Definately, after hours, the adult beverages start to flow, and the foamies are buzzing around like angry hornets, FIREworks start to rattle the sky. Awesome fun, I must say!!!

Ya know, Sleepy has been busting his balls for us to make this event go. What I'm asking is for a little assiatance for him, if he wants some. C'Mon guys, give Sleepy some help.

Toby has his end gettin covered! He s building a gazebo for us to use as the impound! Thanks Toby!!! We will put it to good use this year!! He has the sanction sent in, has the grub covered, and a few other things, I'm sure I have missed. Toby has appointed me to see that things get taken care of. Seems to me, that things are pretty much taking care of itself. But there will still be some things forme to interject on, and give my nickel's worth of free advice.

Sleepy, let me knowwhat you need ME TO DO!!! It will be done!

Kitman (PM or call me anyways), if the Grand Maestro himself, Biff, has a full dance card for this event, I know I'm asking alot from you, superstar, would you be interested in MC'ing?? You are going to be there anyways. Got to have a back up plan in place!! *BFG*

I'll also check in to either borrowing or renting a PA system. I have a few leads on those too!!!

I'm working also, on getting this event covered in a magazine, namely, FLY RC!!! Kitman, has Tom contacted you about covering this event?? If not, I'll need his email address, so I can email him directly. And folks, if not already subscribed to FLY RC, do so!! There will be some pretty cool stuff coming printed in the next few editions, in which I have been sworn to secrecy. I'll be subscribing myself very soon!!!

i appreciate it mikey! i will take you up on that. its going to be around 15' x 20' or so with a concrete floor. i also want to run electric to it so the sparky fliers can charge up if needed. just so everyone knows we will have about 60 acres of soy beans to huck over with 2x 1000' runways(maybe a 3rd if i have time this year). we should have lots of room for rv's and everyones vans and trailers, etc. i can't wait! later, toby....

I am trying to get a "Big Dog" list of characters together for the "Crazy Insane can't believe its RC 1:30 flight demo" And the MC position as well.

I have a draft of the letter started, and my boy at work is a world class word smith so I'm going to have him add his flair to it, and get that rocking.

Besides the flyers, I'll get some (1 or 2 ) nice 2' x 8' outdoor full color banners set up with the name of the event and the sponsers that stepped it up a bit.

Ok.. so organization things:

1)In lue of the new years site change - I would like to have some input for all you guys as to what you would like to call the event now. I would really like to support our new home the Flying Giants, so please keep that in mind. Lets be creative! Make it a fun name.

2) I know that a bunch of people have stated that they can help with this or can do that and that is awsome, but with an event like this we need to get an actual list together. A list that lets everyone know who is expected to do what, and we can see what jobs are filled and which one's need to be filled.

3) If this was close to Cleveland I could have HUGE soundsystems ready to go for us, but this is a bit far my connects to reach so Chris sir... let us know if that PA system is possibly a go.

4) if anyone in the southern Ohio area can help Toby do any construction or landing strip clearing or what ever please get with him I think that would be really cool.

Ok.. also NOW IS THE TIME for any brain storms ect.

Did anyone have any solid comments or Ideas for the prize distribution?
I had come up with the "ticket" method.
1 ticket per day per pilot. So if your there Fri - Sun you get 3 tickets. Sat - Sun get 2 tickets Sun = 1 ticket.
Sunday after the demo we draw prizes?!

Cool? Not cool? Good enough? Anything Better?

Also, JeeUm had a good idea of a group Hover, or possibly a few group events.
Not any competitions, but a few group activities.

AND finally, should we put something like "public welcome" to try and get some non RC people to come and see??

Hey Sleepy,

Ticket idea, good one...We had the same thing going at a fly-in, but with a twist. You get a ticket for every flight. This was not a good idea, guys were just crowding the sky just to get some flights, to get more tickets. Too hard to keep organized, your idea is much better.

I wish I was closer, being a builder and all, but i just can't see tellin' my wife, "see ya' in a week, I gotta' run to Cleveland to do a freebie". Whew...not me!

I like the "Public Welcome" idea also. Kids and Dads will love this thing, maybe you could charge 3.00 a car for the show, I'm sure the people will agree they got their money's worth, a little more for the charity pot? I'm all for helping a charity, if possible...The guys with the airplanes, they're cool, they helped the orphanage, they can't be all bad!

And yea... I mean besides having a ball flying, these fly ins should be for the public.
I think they are a gread ambassador for the hobby.

I remember my DAD taking me to a few when I was like 10. They were doing a spin contest with the guy counting on the way down... 11 - 12 - 13- Is he gonna make it - 14 - 15... I was going nuts!!

I couldn't understand why these guys were risking their .40 sized planes... HOW insane?!?! WOW!!
But it got me hooked...

So I can imagine what the impact of a 40% plane doing a blender then hovering 2 feet off the ground could have on a kid!!
