Impressive!!! On both pilot and Mom's ability to stick with the plane.

So there needs to be an 'official' name for this move.. perhaps the Bill-o-Saurus, the One Arm Salute, maybe the Wing-o-Saurus.

All I can say is that you have demonstrated courage and bravery above all else. For that, I bestow onto thee: You have a little Captain in You!

Alright, I just got off the phone with Great Planes. After being on hold for a few minutes while the tech support guy talked to his supervisor and watched my video, they came to the conclusion that, since I've had my airplane for more than 90 days, they can offer to sell me either a half-price complete new kit or a half-price new wing kit, with free shipping. Hmm...

That is BS. I think that is a crappy way to run such a large company. I would post that video, and the info you have shared about the phone call all over the net and make sure everyone in the RC world knows how they do business.

Dude, if GP wants to act that way, screw it. Post that all over the RC world. I know that if I had a 35% plane, and it broke during normal flight and the company acts like this, I would seriously question their support of the hobby, much less the people who buy their planes. I love Monokote and Futaba, but I'll consider never buying from them again unless they make it right. Call and talk to their supervisor.

I think it is fair. You have to remember that these planes dont come with warranties and a plane that is an ARF and a year old can subject to failure or glue joints crack and come undone. The joints probably just came undone from flying and since it was in the wings nobody ever knew it. I know my Carden was built by a professional builder and I have had to reglue some small joints because they have come loose due to vibrations and just normal/hard flying. I'm not calling him saying to rebuild me a brand new one at your expense because the joints are coming undone. There isnt a plane out there that hasnt had some type of joint or cross brace come loose where you have to reglue it. I would buy the whole new kit for half price, call it a deal and have it ready for the huckfest in Atlanta next month!!!
