Our flying club (Love Air R/C ) hosted the 4th Annual Warbirds over the Rockies today (and continues tomorrow). During the Noon show today the B-17 Shoo Shoo Baby (sorry, I don't remember the pilot's name) flew in the show. Part of his act is to simulate a stuck gear, and he comes down to try to 'shake it loose'. Well, he got a little too low, look at the right side engines in the following 2 photos. ![]() ![]() I think he is going to need those!! It is amazing how fast the other gear came down and he landed safely! Here are a few more photos from today: ![]() ![]() ![]()

The 8 year old Shoo Shoo Baby is owned by Doug Smith of Coral Springs, Florida. The pilot and show off was no other then the great Dino Di Georgio. He makes it look so easy. This B-17 has over 400 flights on it. It's powered by 4 G-23's, Robart gear, except tail wheel. " We don't do retractable tails wheels, too much of a pain in the a__. " According to Doug. Futaba Radios. Doug Smith, Limey, Doc and Jonathan ( myself, ) You may have seen me with an apron on. I was behind the grill, t raveled 36 hours straight from Florida for this event. Not sure we would drive it again. We keep picturing Dorothy. Nice event, we had a great time. The Rockies are beautiful. We missed our humidity tho... Thanks to the guys for inviting me on this trip. Thanks to everyone that made this event possible. Especially Brian and Bonnie, Sam, Frank, Scott, Dino, The cd, Impound and Air boss. I can't forget to mention the cookshack crew. They did a great job under alot of pressure. We cooked over 1000 lunches on Saturday, 500 on Friday and Sunday. J.

RCChef, Thanks for making the drive! It is a killer, I did the reverse trip in 2002 to compete at Top Gun with my Bell 47 heli, except I made the drive by myself. We appreciate you guys coming up and flying for us. Too bad the weather didn't hold out on Sunday for us, but Saturday was super. I have a bunch more photos to upload. One of the guys on your crew asked me if I had any photos of the FW-190, do you know who that was? I do have some good photos of it and would like to get in touch with him.

Hi Dino, Yep, I just wanted to let you know to check your six! That jug is all over you! ![]() ![]() I am still going through the photos but I do have some more of the FW-190 in flight and landing. I totally missed your takeoff, you snuck into the air on me! Actually I think I was in my pits changing memory cards when you took off.
