Hey all, thought I would share some of the videos that were taken of the 110" Yak 54 by Extreme Flight RC, equipped with DA100cc engine(already broken in) with ES Composite tuned pipes, Vess 28B prop, 110" WS, 101" long fuse, 29 LBs. 1st Video is by my good friend John from JP Media, Inc. He recorded the maiden flight (and added a little video blingage ) but turned out great!![]() http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...hp?photo=37908 2nd Video is from the second day with flights 3 & 4, at a get together at Flagler Rams Field, w/ my home boys, the Florida Freestyle Aerobatics Association. ![]() Thanks Chris Hinson & Extreme Flight RC for the best Flying Airframes!

Nice foamy! Flies great Rennie. The climbout looked good on this setup and it looks super light.

I am in between engines now or I should say I am selling my fox and upgrading! I am going to pay a few bills off and the hopefully get my hands on an EF Yak 110". How much difference does the tuned pipes make over cans!

I am a real Desert Aircraft advocate. They are dedicated to their customers and back everything they sell. So DA is the choice for me. Tune pipes do make more power than cans. For the most part, front exiting cans make the same power as stock muffs, just a whole lot quieter. Most rear exiting tuned pipes, like Greives, ES Composites, KS,............ make more power. Now I understand why w/ my lightweight tuned pipes, I had to put the batts in the rear of the canopy area. If I had run aluminum cans or pipes, a little more weight would have been shifted to the rear. Also lighter engines should work and balance out good. I believe a DA 85 on tuned pipe will work on this set-up if The AUW can be kept to 25-26 lbs. That would be sick for a plane this size. The only potential problem I see is that this plane lightly loaded, with over 2200 sq in of wing area, at 25-26 pounds is that it will get blown around and would not do IMAC very well on a windy day. Chris Hinson himself will be setting up the other 110" Yak with a DA85 w/ a tuned pipe. But 3D would be ultra-SICK! We shall see!As for smoke systems, You will have to get a motor that is powerfull and light weight like a BME115 Extreme on tuned pipes on a smallish smoke tank & pump, to maintain lightness and get that kinda of punch out out of a hover. I have a friend of mine htat has a Krill Katana, I believe the WS is 103", weighs 29 LBS w/ smoke and the punch out from a dead hover w/ smoke on, still has excellent punch-out performance.
