Someone might want to tell these guys about a little aerodynamic theory...when your rudder is in the water, it has no authority...

Sorry to see the mishaps, I never enjoy seeing someone's bird in a bad way...

And you know how?

I think Snap hit the bottom and fell out unexpectedly. It wasn't deep.

Fairly simple...without air movement over the control surface it has no authority...if the rudder and elevator is in the water, the air isn't flowing over the surface.

Was your inquiry an attempted slam or simply a test? I do have some knowledge of simple aerodynamics

I'm not debating aerodynamics, I was refering to the reason Snap's plane got wet.

Understood...my comments were simply meant to be informative...dip your tail in the drink and you need to expect that the tail surface authority will be lost.

My question to you was in your "question to me", by asking..."And you know how?"

I take that to infer I wouldn't know...if that's not the reason for the question, please sir, I'm open for correction

How bout this: H2O has a greater density than air, therefore with greater density wouldnt it create greater forces, thus making the authority greater ? But with greater authority comes greater friction or drag.... Thus causing untoward effects such as SPLASH ! .... same way that an airfoil becomes more efficient with lower density altitudes, IE cool heavy dense air make s the wing, and prop bight harder.
