thats awesome, how many flights were on it before you (or whoever) had it on the deck?

Just a quick question - is the torque near the same with electric as is gas?

Good day Seth,

That was the maiden flight Kyle is just amazing and gets a feel for the planes right away. We let him lose as we are very confident that the power systems are solid and we are not pushing our gear right to the limits.

We generate more torque as our props are a lot larger than the gas counter part. The DA 100 I believe would be swinging a 26x12 3-blade. The electric motors have there torque thought out the range of RPM and that is what allows us to swing the 32x18.

As a general rule our electrics are slower in the top end but will climb from the deck unlimited at the same speed.

I hope this helps and makes some sense.

Another question, is this truly the 1st maidened flights for kyle with these planes. What I mean to say is how can he dial in these planes so well to do the flying he does so easily. He's definitely an awesome pilot and It looks like he's either using mixes he's accustomed to with other planes or he's not using any mixes at all.
From watching all your electric setups with Kyle flying It seems like electric is the definitly the biggest thing to hit 3D. The companys comming out with lighter and more powerfull gassers which take years to finally bring to market can not compete to technology regarding these electrics. Within one year they have seemed to advanced 10 fold.
Know if only they could adapt that cool rumbling sound of the gassers.

Good day Sal,

I know what you mean about the sound and they are actually trying to make noice generators, but I think the big prop just beating at the air is very cool.

Yep these are really the maiden flights. Kyle usually goes up and does about two passes to get the trims set (usually not much at all) then its all him. Its very amazing to watch him. Usually somewhere about 3/4 through the flight I just say "lets see what it will do" and he brings it low and slow.

Not all of the planes we test are as stable and solid as the aviation models planes have been. But Kyles skills do make the planes seem extreme smooth. Even after the maiden flights Im just adjusting linkages (like on the 35% Kyle said it needed more elevator and aileron throws) and finishing up the wire runs and making sure nothing shifted or came lose inside.

By the way the plane had no mixes at all. I set up the expo and triple rates. The Kyle likes it sensitive so the high rates were 35 on the rudder 40 on the elivator and 38 on ailirons. He flew it on high rates the whole time, even on the maiden take off (no joke). The guy is sick!!!

I guess the foamie setup is whats best for him. This is how I started to fly all my foamies, never really switching back to low rates.

The maiden flight was 6 min 48 sec and the packs took back 7236mah of the 10,000mah. So 8 minutes will be confortable. These are two brand new packs and they will get more effeciant with more cycles. Ill let you know what we are getting on more flights as we find the "sweet" throttle settings for upline and other manuavers.
