It takes an ability to sum up a situation and sometimes even laugh at ourselves. The crash is sad, the guy made a mistake, probably no one helping him to be honest. But the impact and what it done was definitely humour in a subtle way. No one is making any fun of the guy at all, just the consequence. That thing looked and sounded like a chook picking up bugs, or as Gremlin said, it looked like an ant eater. Thats funny. There is one almost certain fact in this hobby and that is if you have not suffered a crash yet then theres one waiting for you in the future. I have seen guys loose planes that are high dollars on the maiden flight and they find a funny side to it eventually. It is part of the art of picking yourself up off the floor and coming back for another go. Kiwi |

The crash was not funny at ALL... it was sad to see that, but what we find a little humorous, was the after landing festivities. I actually felt bad to see the man waddle out to his mess. Actually, I bet it got fixed and is flying! One thing I found interesting... it broke the fuse, but didnt even tweak the gear!

I would like to know why no one helped the gentleman retrieve his model?? If anyone at my field, and I mean anyone, especially the older flyers needs to go walking for his model I try to get out there and give them a hand. |

As easily as it broke, it prolly' wasn't too hard to fix. I'll bet he or somebody else got it flying again.

I agree too, I was kinda sad to see nobody helped him either... I know one guy doing nothing....the cameraman! But he must have had a nasty old Scimetar master airscrew to take that abuse...

MAN THAT was FUNNY.... and Biff if that was you, I'd still be laughing, I'd have the tape slowed down, and running on a loop on its own web site. Ohhh yea... That video is sad and funny, I can just imagine like 5 guys standing around giving him "The Nelson..." "HAaaa Haaaaaaaaa" (Think the Simpsons) Oh CRAP! A new Jargon word?!?! "The NELSON" - spectator who just points and laughs when a plane goes in... hahahahahaa. Damn, I'm good.
